Профессиональной культурой исследователя можно обозначить метапрограмму его профессиональной деятельности, которая включает такие основные компоненты как, профессиональное мышление, профессиональную компетентность и профессиональное мастерство.
Профессиональное мышление магистра-исследователя можно определить как совокупность умственных процессов, лежащих в основе научного познания. В качестве основных форм научного познания можно выделить: профессиональные понятия, профессиональные суждения и профессиональные умозаключения. Понятие - форма мышления, посредством которой выражается сущность изучаемых явлений. Суждение - это форма мышления, посредством которой что-либо утверждается об изучаемых явлениях, их связях и отношениях. Умозаключение - это форма мышления, посредством которого путем анализа или синтеза различных суждений выводится новое суждение об изучаемых явлениях.
Второй структурный компонент профессиональной культуры магистра-исследователя – профессиональная компетентность. Под профессиональной компетентностью понимается интегративно-интеллектуальное и личностно обусловленное качество как субъекта научного исследования. Профессиональная компетентность является совокупностью инструментальных компетенций, необходимых для эффективной научно-исследовательской деятельности.
Третий структурный компонент профессиональной культуры – профессиональное мастерство исследователя. Данный компонент можно определить как показатель уровня овладения научно-исследовательскими компетенциями, эффективности и качества выполняемых научно-исследовательских действий. Это деятельностный компонент научного творчества.
Для эффективного выполнения задачи – написания магистерской диссертации – магистр-исследователь должен обладать следующими компетенциями:
- знать, что из себя представляет научное исследование, понимать его специфику и уметь на практике осуществлять научно-исследовательскую деятельность.
- Знать принципы и понимать логику научного исследования и в конкретной научно-исследовательской деятельности соблюдать эти принципы и логику.
- Знать проблематику предшествующих научных поисков по теме конкретного научного исследования, осознавать степень ее научной разработанности, понимать существующие методологические подходы в изучении этой темы.
- Осознавать, что научное исследование должно всегда носить проблемный характер и понимать, что без постановки научной проблемы не может быть и самого научного исследования.

- Понимать, что научное исследование должно соответствовать определенным критериям научности, принятым в академическом сообществе, и осуществлять конкретные научные исследования в соответствии с этими признаками.
- Осознавать, что результатом научного исследования должно быть получение нового научного знания на основе репрезентативной источников информации с помощью надежных методологических средств научно-исследовательской деятельности.
- Понимать особую роль рефлексии в научном исследовании и уметь осуществлять рефлексивную деятельность на разных этапах конкретного научного исследования.
- Разбираться в эпистемологической проблематике научных исследований и осуществлять научно-исследовательскую деятельность в соответствии с современными эпистемологическими требованиями.
- Понимать модели (метапарадигмы) современного научного исследования познания и уметь их использовать в конкретной научно-исследовательской деятельности.
- Знать эвристический потенциал различных методологических подходов (парадигм) в современном научном познании и уметь выбирать наиболее эффективные методологические средства для решения определенного класса исследовательских задач.
- Разбираться в теоретическом арсенале современных социально-гуманитарных наук и уметь использовать методологический потенциал научных теорий в научно-исследовательской деятельности.
